In other news, I haven't been crafting a terrible amount lately, but my cooking has been impeccable! Soon I'm trying a recipe for butternut squash ravioli with maple cream sauce. Mmmmm! It sounds awesome, so I hope it works out. Also, need to decide on a good entree for Thanksgiving dinner for the non-meat-eaters in the family. In other words, just for me, but hopefully good enough that others will try it.

I've been doing some pretty decent dining out lately. I think it's better as a vegetarian. I try things I never would have pre-veggie.

Craft swap!

I'm good at posting when I have internet. Unfortunately, I'm not good at posting everything I want to write in one post, so here's another.

My friend, whose daughter I made the little hair accessories for, sent me a craft too! It's the best.



Hello Kitty coffee mug holder! I love it, and since I can't read crochet patterns, I never would have been able to make it! Thanks to Steph for being awesome. I'd like to swap out some more craft projects with other people at some point.

Autumn cooking

Vegetable wild rice soup! I followed this recipe with a few substitutions. Veggie broth instead of chicken broth, carrots and celery instead of chicken, and a little chili powder. A cute boy chopped my veggies and helped me eat it. It turned out delicious, although I used rice from a pack, as suggested by reviewers, and I think I'd prefer plain wild rice next time. I'm going to freeze some and hopefully have lunches for work.

Tomorrow's goal- apple pie!

I've been working with a lot of felt lately. Yes, fancy, I know. I made this headband and clip for a friend's daughter. Hopefully I'll post some stuff on Etsy, as I'll be getting internet soon! Hoooooray!

Fall cooking

Breakfast! French toast with carmelized pecans.

Simmered the pecans with butter, sugar and water until nice and gooey. As they cooled, I made the french toast with whole grain bread and lots of cinnamon. Topped the bread with the pecans and a lot of honey from my uncle's bees. Perfect fall dinner. Yes, I eat breakfast for dinner. And most meals.
